Patricia enjoys teaching a small number of students on Kauai. If you are interested in lessons, please read the following carefully, and then reach out to Patricia to see if she has current availability. Mahalo! 

  1. Ages 5 and up are welcome. I also enjoy teaching adults, whether complete beginners, or returning to the piano!
  2. An in-tune piano or 88 fully-weighted key digital piano or keyboard are required for home practice.
  3. Students are expected to practice 5-7 days per week.
  4.  Students age 5-7 will need a parent or caregiver to sit with them and guide them during practice time.
  5. If you are not musical yourself but would like lessons for your child, I am willing to give you a crash course to help you guide your child at home through their first several months of lessons, free of charge. This usually takes around an hour.
  6. If you (or your child) have had lessons before, I will need to know which books they used and how long they studied. An interview will be needed before we begin, so that I can see their precise level and thus lesson plan appropriately for them.
  7. Method Books fluctuate around $25-$35 per level, and will need to be purchased before we begin. 
  8. Lessons are once a week. If you reserve a weekly spot, regular attendance is expected. If you need to cancel, I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you do not want to pay for the lesson. Without this notice, you forfeit the lesson. 
  9. For ages 5-6, 30 minute lessons are available. For ages 7 through adult, lessons are 40 minutes, or option for 45 or 50 minutes for the advancing student.
  10. My current prices are: 30 minute lessons: $37.50, 40 minute lessons:$50, and 50 minute lessons: $62.50.  ***STARTING AUGUST 3, 2026, RATES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: 30 minute lessons: $42, 40 minute lessons: $55, 45 minute lessons: $62, and 50 minute lessons: $68.75
